WOW has it really been over a month since I last posted? Blogging EPIC FAIL!! In my defense… the last few weeks have been a crazy blur of work projects, non-stop activities and major life events. As per usual training has gotten pushed to the side. I would like to whine about how out of shape I am, but honestly…the last few weeks have been SOOO worth it! Training is always there waiting for me to pick it back up where I left off…well, maybe a few steps/miles back from where I left off 🙂 Sometimes you just have to let go and enjoy being “normal” for a while.
You can have it all, just not all at once ~ Oprah Winfrey
To tell you all about what I have been up to in detail would take a week and bore you all to death, so I will do my best to sum it up with the highlights:
-
I had a birthday…booo
-
My Mom came to visit from South Africa
This was extremely overdue! We had gone nearly 2 years without seeing each other! Skype doesn’t count. Lots of wine drinking and exploring ensued…
-
A trip to San Diego…
And stinky La Jolla Cove beach that is now COVERED in seals. Smelly but fun! Marjan and Kelly came down too and we attempted to swim, but it was a little scary with that many seals swimming around you.
-
A trip to Santa Barbara…
Because my Mom had never been before and wanted to see it. Plus I got to test out my new birthday present from Weston 🙂
-
A PROPOSAL!!!!
Obviously this was a pretty big highlight! We have been together for 6 amazing years and this man knows me better than I know myself. I am a very lucky lady 🙂 He proposed in front of my Mom too, which made it that much more special. She has missed out on a lot of mile stones in my life because we live so far apart. It was perfect. I cried. A lot.
-
A trip to Las Vegas
Cuz…hell why not! This was also on my Moms wish list for this trip so off we went. The weather kind of sucked so we just stayed for one night and had a really fun spa day before driving home.
-
A mountain bike race for Rwanda
Such a fun day! It was a ride to raise money for Rwanda and Kelly, Jen and I had a blast. So much so that I finally registered for the XTERRA TRI in Laguna Beach next month! Better get training 😉
Now its back to reality and time to do what I do a lot….pick up where I left off and get my butt back in shape. Hills are going to be my new best friend for the next 4 weeks!!
