Ahhhh, the weekend! I can’t believe that I used to not have one! Well, not have them off…you know what I mean. For the first 3 years after graduating from college and having a “proper job” I also continued to bar tend on the weekends. It sucked! Now I enjoy every minute of those 2 full days off. This weekend was a particularly mellow one filled with the perfect ratio of relaxation and fun activities with minimal chores 😉
My weekend in (mostly) pictures:
On Friday night Kelly and Marjan came over for some arts, crafts and Moscow Mules. I saw this awesome medal display idea on The Hippie Triathlete and decided we needed to give it a go. You take all your old race bibs and use Modge Podge glue to laminate them onto a piece of wood, then add some hooks for your medals…genius!

On Saturday I met up with my friend Kyrina for a chatty 2.5 hr bike ride. We stopped off in Laguna Beach for some coffee and a muffin top (yep, they just serve the tops) at Madison Square Garden Cafe. If you’ve never been…GO! It is full of all sorts of cool stuff, like meditating frogs 🙂
We rode back to Newport just in time to join our triathlon team, NCTT, for their annual Santa Beer Mile race. The “race” consists of downing a beer then running a 1/4 mile loop and repeating that 4 times! The girls opted for a relay instead 😉 Definitely entertaining to watch and we raised some money for charity.
After a shower I took my poor hobbly boyfriend out for some lunch. He just had meniscus surgery on Thursday, so was ready to get out of the house for a bit. We went to Sol in Newport so we could enjoy this view.
We topped off the afternoon wandering (slowly) around a few antique stores and the Army Surplus store in Old Towne Orange, where I found this gem of a hat…
Sunday was a lot less eventful and worth writing about..but relaxing none the less. Yoga, Skype session, cooking, chat with the neighbors cat…all good stuff! Boooo to Monday 😉
